Lovense has made app-controlled toys for more than a decade. Before you spend $59 to $199 on one, here's what customers think, from Trustpilot, Reddit's r/SexToys and r/LovenseConnect, and both app stores.
Buyers keep praising the hardware, and the app, especially its long-distance control, is the most complete in its category. Customer service is the weak point: slow, but it gets there if you persist. For most buyers, Lovense is a safe purchase.
Lovense on Trustpilot
Trustpilot is often the first place buyers check before committing to a purchase, so it's where I start. Across Trustpilot, Reddit and the app stores, the overall picture is positive, and the same few complaints come up again and again.
- + Products arrive quickly and packaged discreetly
- + Build quality exceeds expectations for the price
- + App works well and updates are frequent
- ! Some delays reaching human support agents
- ! Occasional Bluetooth drops on older Android phones
- + Lush 4 and Edge 2 dominate recommendation threads
- + Long-distance couples rate the sync highly
- + Community troubleshooting is fast and helpful
- ! Price frequently cited as the main barrier
- ! Support tickets can take multiple days
- + The iOS app is well rated
- + Music sync and game mode features praised
- + Regular updates with new features and bug fixes
- ! Android more variable due to device fragmentation
- ! Some users need to re-pair after app updates
Patterns matter more than any single review: one angry post says little, but a complaint that repeats across platforms, like slow support, is worth taking seriously.
What Reddit says about Lovense
Reddit gives the most direct feedback, because people there aren't writing for a discount code. Across r/SexToys, r/LovenseConnect and r/LongDistance, the picture is clear.
Recurring themes across Reddit discussions:
- Long-distance couples like it most. They rate the app's remote control highly, and when other brands come up, Lovense usually wins on how reliable the connection is.
- r/LovenseConnect is a surprisingly good support resource. The community often solves technical issues faster than official support. Firmware threads, pairing guides, and tips are regularly shared.
- Price discussions are frequent. Lovense isn't cheap, and Reddit users aren't shy about that. The consensus: "worth it, but shop during a sale."
- The Max 2 and Solace Pro come up most often in men's threads. Both have loyal fans and are often recommended for interactive content.
App store reviews (iOS and Android)
The Lovense Remote app is central to the experience, and the experience differs between platforms.
iOS (Apple App Store)
Generally strong reviews. Users praise smooth Bluetooth pairing, music sync, and long-distance control. Rare complaints involve battery drain when the app runs continuously in the background.
Android (Google Play)
More variable, because Android phones vary so much. It works well on most, and a minority on older or budget phones report unstable Bluetooth, often fixed by an app update.
Lovense updates the app regularly, and that matters: with a connected toy, the app is half the product.
The app itself
The Lovense Remote app is the main reason people choose Lovense. Its long-distance features are solid, and its feature set is the broadest I've seen in this category.
What works excellently
Long-distance control, multi-toy control, music sync and sound activation, the custom pattern editor, cam-site integrations, and pattern sharing.
What could be better
You need an account for long distance, which is a small hassle. With so many features, the app can feel busy the first time, the alarm for timed vibrations is hard to find, and the battery level could be easier to see.
How it compares
We-Vibe's We-Connect app also offers long-distance control, with fewer extras. LELO lists no long-distance option for its toys in the specs I've read. Kiiroo's FeelConnect focuses on interactive content. For long distance, Lovense Remote is still the most complete app in my view.
What customers love and complain about
Across Trustpilot, Reddit and the app stores, certain themes repeat constantly. Here's the clearest summary of what real buyers say.
What customers love
- Body-safe silicone that feels better than cheaper toys
- App connectivity: among the most reliable in connected toys
- Long-distance sync works globally, even across continents
- Discreet packaging: plain box, no branding visible
- Shipping is usually quick
- Products last years with proper care; durability consistently praised
- Music sync and sound activation are fun
- Wide product range covering every use case and experience level
Common complaints
- Slow customer service replies, often a day or more
- Bluetooth drops on some older Android phones
- Premium price point: most toys cost $59 to $199
- Need to re-pair device after some app updates
- No shops: online only
- App interface can feel overwhelming to beginners
- Brand-specific magnetic charging cables; a USB-C cable won't fit
Is Lovense a legitimate company?
If you searched "is Lovense legit" or "Lovense scam" before landing here, you're not alone: buying intimate products online from a specialist brand raises fair questions. Here's what answers them.
of app-controlled toys
Body-safe silicone and ABS plastic
Encrypted (HTTPS) checkout on lovense.com
Regular app and firmware updates
On every toy, according to Lovense
Plain, unbranded box
Lovense is operated by Hytto. Most of the negative reviews I read are about slow support, not about orders that never arrived. That's an important distinction.
Customer service: what to expect
On every review platform, support is Lovense's weak point. Here's each channel and what it's good for.
| Channel | Best For |
|---|---|
| Email support | Warranty claims, refunds |
| Live chat | Quick questions |
| Online help center | Setup and pairing issues |
| r/LovenseConnect (community) | Technical troubleshooting |
Tip: skip the queue
For technical issues, go to r/LovenseConnect before official support. The community is often faster, shares screenshots, and solves common Bluetooth and app issues quickly. Lovense's help center also covers most common setup problems.
Popular Lovense toys: what buyers say
These six toys come up again and again in buyer discussions. Here's what owners praise and what they complain about, with my score for each.
Lovense Lush 4
The Lush 4 is the Lovense toy I see recommended most, above all in long-distance threads on Reddit, and the feedback is consistently good. This generation brought a battery Lovense rates at up to 350 minutes, a 45-minute charge and a shape buyers say stays in place better than before.
What customers say
- Reliable Bluetooth: connection drops are rare
- Up to 350 minutes per charge, by Lovense's figure
- Quiet at low and medium settings (36 dB per Lovense)
- Often credited with keeping long-distance couples connected
- Deep, rumbly vibrations rather than buzzy surface stimulation
Common complaints
- Higher price than the previous Lush 3
- Can shift slightly during very intense physical activity
Lovense Edge 2
The Edge 2 comes up constantly in men's threads on Reddit and on Trustpilot, and many reviewers who doubted prostate toys changed their minds with it; they often say nothing else at this price comes close. Two separately controlled motors, an adjustable arm and the full Lovense app make it one of the most complete prostate toys for $99.
What customers say
- Often called unbeatable at its price
- Adjustable arm fits a wide range of body types
- Two separate motors, inside and on the perineum at once
- Excellent for both solo and partner-controlled use
- Full Lovense app and long-distance support
Common complaints
- Arm positioning takes some trial and error to find the right fit
- Longer charging time compared to smaller Lovense products
Lovense Nora
The Nora is the long-distance couples' favourite. It pairs with the Max 2 (a masturbator) so each follows the other's movements in real time, which reviewers describe as the closest thing to being together. Few toys do that both ways. Its rotating rabbit design also scores well for solo use.
What customers say
- Max 2 sync praised by long-distance couples
- Buyers' favourite Lovense rabbit
- Rotating arm combined with clitoral stimulation is highly praised
- Partner control works well through the app
- Top pick for long-distance couples seeking real-time intimacy
Common complaints
- The size doesn't suit everyone, and some find the arm too firm
- Rotating arm can be noisy at the highest speed settings
Lovense Velvo
One of Lovense's most original designs: a rolling bead inside the G-spot arm creates a rolling pressure, a different sensation from rotation or vibration. The clitoral arm is controlled separately.
What customers say
- Rolling bead sensation unlike any other vibrator
- Independent G-spot and clitoral arm control highly praised
- Works for users who found rotation or vibration insufficient
- App and long-distance control work well
Common complaints
- No dedicated Max 2 real-time sync (Nora's advantage)
- Short battery: 66 to 78 minutes per Lovense
Lovense Ferri
For such a small toy, the Ferri gets a lot of enthusiasm. Reviewers keep mentioning the magnetic clip, which stays hidden in underwear and rarely slips, and wearing it to dinner with a partner in control without anyone noticing.
What customers say
- Owners say nobody notices it in public
- The magnetic clip holds well and rarely slips
- Surprisingly powerful for its compact form factor
- Made for going out with a partner in control
Common complaints
- External stimulation only
- Requires underwear with sufficient fabric for the clip to grip
Lovense Solace Pro
Lovense's most expensive toy for men, and one of its best reviewed. The motor does the stroking, the desk unit keeps your hands free, and Lovense rates a charge at up to 14 hours. Buyers also mention app control and interactive content.
What customers say
- Hands-free thrusting is the most praised feature
- Buyers say the premium price is justified
- Internal thrusting sleeve praised for realistic sensation
- App control and interactive content compatibility are highlights
Common complaints
- Premium price at $199
- Needs careful cleaning, especially the sleeve

Toys I rate lower
Not every Lovense product earns a strong recommendation. The Lovense Sex Machine ($699) is a niche product for specific users, and at that price it requires substantial commitment. The Ridge anal beads have fewer community reviews than the Hush 2 and aren't a default recommendation. The Exomoon lipstick-style vibrator works well but doesn't stand out against competitors at similar prices.
They suit the people they're made for, but with the Nora (8.6/10) and the Lush 4 (8.8/10) in the same range, I don't make them default picks.
My verdict: should you buy Lovense?
After going through reviews across platforms, the answer for most buyers is yes. Here's exactly who should buy, and who should look elsewhere.
✅ Buy Lovense if…
- You're in a long-distance relationship: few brands match it on connectivity
- You want products that last years, not months
- App control and interactive features matter to you
- You want a wide ecosystem (31 toys in one app)
- You can spend $59 to $199 for quality
- You're happy to wait for a sale
⚠️ Look elsewhere if…
- Your budget is under $59, the price of the cheapest Lovense toy (the Ambi)
- You need instant customer support
- You have an older Android phone with Bluetooth issues
- You prefer buying from a physical retailer
- You don't want app-dependent features: LELO and Womanizer make strong alternatives (compare them side by side)
